My name is Weakness and I am an MMO gamer who enjoys many different MMO titles and subgenres. I started playing World of Warcraft in 2011 and since then I have toured through many virtual worlds playing many different characters. Over the past four years I’ve played Lord of the Rings Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, WildStar, Trove, Guild Wars 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, Rift and many more. Currently I spend most of my time in The Secret World. While I no longer consider one specific game a home, I still prefer this genre over all others. This blog is where you will find commentary on what I am playing and what I think about the genre as a whole.
More importantly I’m a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. On occasion I will also post blogs about the intersection between family life and faith or a reflection on a passage of scripture from the Bible. I struggle with loving God and loving people the way I ought to— by nature I’m a selfish person— but thank God my hope for being a better man is not in my own capacity for good, but in the transformative grace of God to do the impossible. Some day I hope to be able to say with all sincerity,
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—”
The Apostle Paul, Philippians 3:7-9
So whether you are a fellow gamer, a fellow Christian— or both—I hope you find something you enjoy here at Waiting for Rez.
